EXERCISE DURING LOCKDOWN
As there were conflicting responses, or responses open to different interpretation, in the press [and in the Q&A on the Coronavirus Government site], clarification has been obtained regarding exercise.
You can exercise in any permitted place [ie you cannot use gyms, public swimming pools, sports grounds, and the like]. As regards parks, linear parks and beaches, these are only open for exercise, ie you cannot BBQ, party, or socialise in such areas.
There can be no more than 2 people together - and you can be absent from home for exercise for up to 3 hours - but must ensure you are home by 9pm.
An SMS must be obtained, or you should carry the relevant paper permit, plus your ID/passport.
For dog walkers, you can walk without SMS/permit within 500m of your residence. There is no limit on the number of times you can do this. If you go further afield with the dogs, or take them in the car and then walk them, you will need to have the relevant SMS/permit and the trip will count as one of your two 'outings'.
