CHLORAKAS - CONCERN ABOUT THE €3.6m DUE TO GOVERNMENT BUDGET DELAY

Filenews 31 December 2020 - by Dora Christodoulou

The call for tenders for the construction of five parallel break breakers and for the construction of a boat-launch ramp in the "Alytzi" area of Chloraka may have been launched from 23 November, but the local authority and other local bodies have been waiting and appear concerned about the smooth promotion of procedures.

The reason for this development is, of course, the negative developments at the level of the functioning of the State due to the non-voting of the State Budget.

Chloraka now expects the procedures for its adoption to be carried out, albeit late, in order for the projects inclusion in it for the coming year to be properly promoted. According to our information, the authorities of Chloraka are mainly concerned with the aspect of the timetable set for the submission of tenders for the major project. The last date was 15 January, with several sides considering that the delays around the adoption of the De facto Budget will also alter this timetable.

The project was launched by the Department of Public Works. The estimated cost of the project is EUR 3.6 million plus VAT.
