7,780 VACCINATIONS IN THE LAST 7 DAYS - FROM MONDAY 1 FEB, VACCINATION PORTAL OPENS AT 9AM FOR THOSE 84+

Vaccination of 7,780 people continued in the week of 23-29 January, the implementation of the National Vaccination Plan for COVID-19, the Ministry of Health said in a statement. In particular, the 3,494 vaccinations concerned the administration of the 2nd dose to health professionals in the OKY and the private sector, residents and nursing home staff in all provinces. Therefore, the total number of people who completed their vaccination is 5,551.

During the same period, the 1st dose was administered to 4,296 people, with the total number vaccinated with the 1st dose being 19,617.

The National Vaccination Plan for COVID-19 continues with the release from Monday, February 1, at 9 a.m., of another 3,904 appointments. Access to the Vaccination Portal from 1 February will be open to people over the age of 84 who have not arranged an appointment in previous weeks or have not already been vaccinated. Appointments are for the period from 8 to 12 February. Please note that the 3,904 appointments are in addition to the appointments that were not exhausted in the previous days.

It is recommended that citizens who fall into the age sub-group that has priority for vaccination, arrange appointments on the first time available day and time, so that there is a continuous flow to the Vaccination Centers.

Depending on the rate of exhaustion of appointments for people over the age of 84, citizens will be informed by means of a communication on the availability of appointments to subsequent age groups. Citizens are invited to follow the announcements of the Ministry of Health, so that they know the differences in the age group and make an appointment arrangement.

At the same time, from 8 February at the Linopetra Vaccination Centre in Limassol, two workshops will be operating to better serve the citizens. In total vaccinations are carried out in 10 Vaccination Centres in Cyprus from a total of 19 workshops. Vaccinations are carried out simultaneously by five mobile units, one in each Province, covering nursing home vaccinations, health infrastructure and mountainous/remote areas.
