On 23 December, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) will give the green light to the approval of the Pfizer/BionTech vaccine for coronavirus, according to authoritative information in the German newspaper "Bild".
The newspaper cites circles of the Commission and the German government.
Vaccination could begin in Germany even during Christmas, most likely on December 26th, the German newspaper reports.
German Health Minister Jens Spahn confirmed Bild's information. "This is good news for the whole EU!" he said, as cited by German newspaper Bild.
At the German biotechnology company everything is ready: "We have already saved the first batches of the vaccine for the EU. Once we receive the green light from the European Medicines Agency and the Commission, then we can start loading and delivering doses of the vaccine to vaccination centres," a company spokesperson told BILD.
