Self-isolation
for passengers from the UK due to new strain of coronavirus |
After the detection of a new
strain of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the United Kingdom, for the sake of
protecting Public Health until more information is available from the
scientific community, passengers arriving at Larnaka and Pafos Airports from
UK airports should stay in self-isolation for a period of 14 days or for a
period of 10 days, provided that they undergo a molecular test with a
negative result. It is noted that during the period of self-isolation, if
symptoms occur, the GP should be contacted for medical guidance. This measure enters into effect
as of 21 December 2020 at 6.00 am. Cyprus time. It is noted that this measure
is complementary to the measure that is already in force regarding the
presentation of a negative certificate of molecular test (PCR test) of the last
72 hours; sample tests at airports continues to be carried out. The data are being evaluated by
the Scientific Advisory Committee on Coronavirus and any new recommendations
will be announced. (MPO) |
