New restrictive measures come into force the Friday 11 December at 6 a.m. Based on the design they will remain in place until midnight on December 31st.
Curfew between 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. except in the following cases:a]Go to and from workplaces, as well as for work purposes using the Employee Traffic Certificate Form;
b]going to a medical centre or hospital or pharmacy or veterinarian for medical emergencies, and
c] movement of hunters to and within non-prohibited hunting areas, as defined in the Protection and Management of Wild Birds and Game Laws of 2003 to 2017, from 03.00 a.m. only on permitted hunting days (it is understood that they must carry the hunting permit with them for control purposes).
- Gatherings are allowed in public places (parks, squares, dams, excursion areas, beaches, pedestrian streets and marinas, etc.), except that they will not exceed two persons, with the exception of minor children.
- Up to 10 persons may be present in homes, including minor children.
- The church and other forms of religious worship in religious places are performed without the presence of believers.
- It is forbidden to hold meals / dinners and any other events for weddings and christenings (except for an event in a house with a maximum number of 10 persons including minor children).
- Religious ceremonies (weddings, baptisms, funerals) with a maximum number of 10 persons are allowed.
- The operation of the Lyceums and Higher and Higher Education Institutions from Monday 14/12/2020 will be done by distance education. Kindergartens, Primary Schools and Gymnasiums continue to operate normally. It is understood to concern public and private schools/institutions.
- Visits to hospitals, clinics, medical and diagnostic centres are prohibited.
- All dining areas (restaurants, taverns, cafes, pubs, snack bars and bars, cafes and dining areas within shopping centres, canteens and/or sports groups, cultural groups, clubs, clubs, etc.) are suspended with the exception of their services relating to home distribution and take away (After 21.00 p.m. only home distribution is allowed).
Please note that dining areas within hotels and tourist accommodations may be open until 21:00 p.m. only for the service of persons staying overnight in these hotels/tourist accommodations (with a maximum number of people depending on square meters, 40 people indoors and 80 people outdoors).
In addition, the dining areas at Paphos and Larnaca Airport are allowed to operate.
- The operation of outdoor and closed theatres, amphitheatres, cinemas, and theatre rooms is suspended.
- The popular markets will operate with 50% occupancy and 1.5 meters between persons under protocol.
- There remains a ban on mass and other events, gatherings, demonstrations, parades, concerts, outdoor celebrations, Christmas bazaars, festivals in public or private places.
- The capacity of public transport will be regulated by the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works by Province.
- The operation of closed shopping centres is suspended.
- The remaining retail trade, including super shops and department stores as well as large shops, of more than 500 sq.m., is allowed to operate, with respect to the measure of 1 person to 10 sq.m. of useful space. Super-stores, department stores and large stores of more than 500 sq.m., must ensure control at the entrance of the store for not exceeding the maximum physical presence number.
- The operation of gyms, dance schools and other sports schools is suspended. Personal training is allowed.
- Gambling and betting businesses may operate, subject to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the National Betting Authority and subject to the conditions that the measure of one person per 10 sq.m. is respected at least and that customers remain within the company only for the required period of time to complete and deposit the bet card or pay profits.
- Casinos are suspended.
- Suspension of swimming pools excluding the use by persons with disabilities for therapeutic exercise or for training of up to 4 persons, including the coach.
- Gyms, swimming pools and spas as well as dining areas within hotels and tourist accommodations can only be operated to serve people staying overnight in these hotels/tourist accommodations (dining areas within hotels and tourist accommodations can only be operated until 21:00 p.m.).
- Limassol and Larnaca Port will only be open for commercial transactions and activities. Cruise ship passengers are prohibited from disembarking.
- Sports:
-Suspension of training sessions and sporting events for persons under 18 years of age
-The operation and use of closed and open sports facilities shall be suspended, except in the following cases:
(i) Operation of sports facilities solely for use by persons or groups of up to four (4) persons, including the coach and without the presence of spectators;
(ii) Operation of sports facilities for training and competitions, without the presence of spectators, for the championships of the first, second and third division teams and national teams, in compliance with the health protocols, and
(iii) Operation of the sports facilities for the training of high performance athletes included in the list of the Cyprus Sports Organization with the participation of up to 4 persons, including the coach, such as athletes who have secured or are claiming qualification to the Olympic Games and/or are included in the High Performance and Talent Designs of the Cyprus Sports Organization.
- All group care facilities, as well as sports and social activities for children under 18 years of age, are prohibited:
It is understood that tele-education and physical instruction are permitted for up to two persons including the instructor.
- The Courts continue to operate, on the basis of relevant guidelines of the Supreme Court, in consultation with the Ministry of Health.
- Service exclusively for persons 65 years of age and older as well as persons with disabilities, from the food retail trade, from the time of their start of operation until 9.00 a.m.
- The suspension of the operation of nightclubs, record shops, nightclubs and music and dance venues remains.
- The suspension of playgrounds, amusement parks and theme parks remains.
- Suspension of conferences, trade and art exhibitions and assemblies.
- Prohibition of visits to nursing homes, elderly care units, centres for chronically ill people, shelters for vulnerable groups, hostels for the transitional accommodation of homeless people, day centres, child protection structures, with the exception of visits to people with disabilities where each tenant can receive two visits a week and in extremely necessary cases additional visits will be considered by the official responsible.
- Suspension of the operation of the campgrounds.
- Prohibition of entry and/or exit from reception, reception and detention centres of asylum seekers of any person other than the entry of new asylum seekers:
It is understood that the entry and/or exit from these centres is permitted for the workers and the exceptional entry and/or exit for humanitarian and/or medical reasons with the permission of the Minister of the Interior.
