In light of the ongoing spread of Covid-19 described by the World Health Organisation as a pandemic, and taking into account new data emerging regarding the detection of a new strain of SARS-COV-2 virus in the UK, the Foreign Office advises Cypriot citizens to avoid travelling to the UK unless absolutely necessary.
According to the Ministry's announcement, if it is necessary to travel, it is recommended that you ensure that you are informed in advance of the regulations and restrictions in force regarding entry and residence in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, please be aware that the controls and/or limitations in relation to Covid-19 may vary at any time in a way that will affect your trip.
Citizens of the Republic of Cyprus who are temporarily or permanently resident in the United Kingdom are encouraged to monitor local and international media on the latest developments regarding Covid-19 and the new SARS-CoV-2 strain, to follow the relevant instructions of the local authorities and to take all appropriate personal protection measures.
It should be noted that, for the purpose of ensuring public health as a precautionary measure and until further information is clarified by the scientific community, for those who arrived at Larnaca and Paphos airports from airports in the United Kingdom, the relevant measures announced by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Cyprus in its communication of 21/12/2020will apply.
Cypriot citizens who are already or intend to travel to the UK are encouraged to register on the Connect2CY web platform.
It is recalled that all passengers who intend to travel/return to Cyprus should follow the procedure and register on the Cyprus Flight Pass online platform and meet the applicable conditions for entry into the Republic as defined by the relevant Decrees and Decisions of the Council of Ministers.
Relevant decrees, notices, press releases and information from the Ministry of Health of the Republic and other competent Authorities and Services of the Republic are available on the special website of the Press and Information Office.
