The Organizing Committee of the International Marathon in Paphos "Cyprus Marathon" announces that the international event scheduled for Sunday 21 March 2021 is postponed amid the continued spread of the pandemic and the very strict restrictive measures imposed by the Government.
Despite the fact that every effort has been made in contacts and discussions with all the relevant bodies of our country, as well as with organized groups and partners who support the event with the aim of implementing the event for next March we are forced to abort the event because the risk of it being held was assessed as very high, stressed in the communication.
The Cyprus Marathon allows runners to transfer their registration to the next event rescheduled for Sunday 5 December 2021 while as a second choice, they can transfer their participation in the 24th event of the sporting event which will take place on Sunday 13 March 2022. In addition, runners who for some reason are not comfortable with the above dates will be given the opportunity to transfer their participation in the 25th anniversary event that will be organized on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
At the same time, consideration is being given to organising a "Virtual Cyprus Marathon 2021" for next March with the terms and rules of participation announced at a later stage.
The Organizing Committee of the Logicom Cyprus Marathon remains optimistic that as the pandemic is overcome, all runners will be given the opportunity to run again together in the most historic Marathon of Cyprus, enjoying unique moments and the beauties of the historic city of Paphos.
