CYPRUS NOT AFFECTED BY ARCADIA COLLAPSE

Cyprus Mail 1 December 2020  - by Staff Reporter

The Voici la Mode Group, representative of the Arcadia group in Cyprus, announced on Tuesday that despite the developments in the United Kingdom, operations in Cyprus were not affected by the collapse of the fashion giant.

Philip Green’s Arcadia fashion group collapsed into administration late on Monday, threatening 13,000 jobs. Department store group Debenhams is to be liquidated, Reuters reported on Tuesday following the collapse. Arcadia was the biggest concession operator in Debenhams, accounting for about 5 per cent of Debenhams’ sales. Debenhams closed in Cyprus, changing operations some years ago.

The Voici la Mode Group said it would continue to work with UK branded stores in Cyprus such as Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Evans and Miss Selfridge, and that the Cyprus operations were not affected.

“The Voici la Mode Group expresses its gratitude to the consumers of Cyprus for their timeless support for the brands of the Arcadia Group,” the announcement said.

“The stores continue to operate normally, where they are waiting for you with new complete collections for your Christmas shopping.”
