Filenews 22 December 2020 - by Socrates Joachim
According to cross-referenced information from Insider, the refusal of the ground handling companies of the Cypriot airports LGS Handling and Swissport to apply the collective agreement to their staff by not paying the 13th salary led the SEK and PEO guilds to take dynamic measures.
In particular, the guilds called on all company staff to refrain from their duties from 16:00 this afternoon, until 1800 today.
For the guilds this decision was taken because the employer side did not respect the suggestions of the Minister of Labour.
UPDATE - The work stoppage scheduled for this afternoon at the two airports has been postponed and instead the parties involved will have a meeting with Labor Minister Zeta Emilianidou aiming to remove the deadlock.
It is reminded that the refusal of Swissport, LGS και S&L Airport Services to implement the collective agreements with their staff by not paying them 13th month salary led trade unions to measures.
Specifically, the trade unions asked staff to abstain from their duties for two hours this afternoon.
