- 36 women (36%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 79 years.
- 130 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 32 of whom are in serious condition.
- A total of 12,658 disease detection tests have been carried out, of which 4,088 have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and 8,570 using the rapid test.
- 402 new cases of the disease were identified and confirmed by molecular tests (PCRs), bringing the total number of cases to 18,406. The 402 include 135 verifications from rapid tests of the previous days.
- In 231 cases the rapid antigen test had a positive result, which should be verified by the molecular method (PCR).
Here are today's results in detail.
Hospitalized:
A total of 130 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in OKYY hospitals, 32 of whom are in serious condition.
Of the 32 patients critical, 12 are intubated, three are hospitalized in the Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 17 in the Increased Care Unit.
Of the 4,088 laboratory diagnoses currently carried out using the Molecular Method (PCR), 402 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified and verified, resulting as follows:
- 124 cases from 918 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 3 cases from 815 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 111 cases from 1,770 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 26 cases from 314 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 3 cases from 74 samples taken under the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through Public Health Clinics.
- 135 cases from 140 samples taken for verification using the molecular test method of positive results detected through the rapid antigen test method in previous days. Verification using the molecular examination method is carried out by the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 57 samples taken from the residents of Kato Pyrgos, Tylliria.
Antigen rapid test: Of the 8,570 tests carried out using the rapid test, 231 positive results were obtained.
These 231 cases will be examined using the PCR molecular method in order to be verified.
RAPID TESTS
Of the 8,570 tests carried out today using the rapid test, 231 positive results were obtained.
These 231 cases will be examined using the PCR molecular method in order to be verified.
Most positive results were found in Larnaca province.
In detail, the rapid antigen detection tests were carried out today as follows:
