Employees in all care homes in Limassol and Paphos will be tested for coronavirus, the health ministry said on Friday.
The announcement follows a positive case among its staff in a care home in Limassol late on Thursday.
The health ministry will proceed with the testing of all nurses and staff of nursing homes in Paphos and Limassol, the two districts with most Covid-19 cases, the health ministry’s spokesperson Margarita Kyriacou told the Cyprus Mail.
Tests were carried out on all workers and residents of the home and results are expected in the upcoming days.
Care homes have been in spotlight since Socration Melathron nursing home in Episkopi reported 37 positive coronavirus cases earlier this month. At least three elderly residents have since died.
