64 VIOLATIONS OF COVID MEASURES

In 58 complaints from citizens and 6 premises for violation of measures to limit the spread of coronavirus disease, the Police proceeded in the last 24 hours.

In a statement to the CYPE, a spokesman for the Police Headquarters Communication Branch said that between 6am on Saturday and 06:00 today, 2,760 checks were carried out.

He noted that of the 58 citizen complaints, 27 related to the non-use of a protective mask outdoors, 21 concerned traffic movements after the trafficking ban, of which 20 were in Limassol and 1 in Famagusta, and the other 10 related to the non-use of masks in premises.

As regards checks by province, the representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters told the CYPE that 570 checks were carried out in Nicosia with 7 complaints of citizens and 2 premises, in Limassol 466 checks were carried out with 23 complaints of citizens, in Larnaca 498 checks were carried out with 5 complaints of citizens and one premises, in Paphos 535 checks were carried out with 3 complaints of premises and 7 citizens , 416 checks were carried out in Famagusta with 14 citizen complaints and 275 checks were carried out in the Morfos area with 2 citizen complaints.

Another 40 checks were carried out by the Port Police, without any complaints being made.

Meanwhile, from the police roadblocks for the movement of drivers to and from the Provinces of Paphos and Limassol, 103 people were prevented from 17.30 yesterday morning, who did not present the necessary certificates to justify their passage to and from the Provinces.
