Outside bars and other places frequented by young people, mobile sampling units will be set up during the night hours in the next period, since the aim of the Ministry of Health is to identify as many positive people as possible for the virus and achieve their isolation as quickly as possible.

As Health Minister Konstantinos Ioannou said in a statement, this audit will be carried out within the framework of the programme of 5,000 samples that will now be carried out every fortnight on a pancyprian basis and will aim to capture the epidemiological picture presented by Cypriot society. As Konstantinos Ioannou mentioned, the first 5,000 checks will be made to deal with people up to 40 years old.

He also pointed out that "it is important that those returning from holiday remain as limited as possible in the first days of their return, as they may, despite the first negative test, experience symptoms along the way".

Cypriots returning from their holidays abroad and mainly from Greece now seem to be the biggest headache for the Ministry of Health since yesterday among the 14 new cases of coronavirus announced, 6 concerned people with travel his history in Greece.

Specifically, one person had returned from Athens on August 20th. A second person, a Greek military man, was privately examined and a third person had recently returned from Mykonos. At the same time, two Greeks, permanent residents of Cyprus who had returned to Cyprus on Monday, were also shown positive for the virus. The sixth person was examined at a state hospital due to symptoms. He had returned from Athens last Friday.

As regards the remaining cases, four resulted from the tracing process, two people who returned from Russia ten days ago and were checked privately and, finally, two people were examined due to symptoms.
