14 NEW CASES TODAY

Fourteen cases on Saturday in the free areas of  the island. According to data from the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Health, out of a total of 3,813 laboratory diagnoses, 14 cases of SARS-CoV-2 virus were detected.

In detail, virus-positive individuals emerged as follows:

The cases occurred as follows:

  • 5 by tracingof which 1 is from a private initiative
  1. The 3 people are from the tracing process and are connected to the cluster of hens party. In total today, the cluster has 13 cases.
  2. The 1 person is from the tracing process and is connected to the cluster of the pool party. He has no symptoms. With today we have 6 cases in the cluster.
  3. The fifth person took the test privately and is in contact with a colleague. He has no symptoms.
  • 2 by referral from a Personal Physician, 1 of whom has a recent travel history
  1. 1 person has a travel history in Paros. She returned to Cyprus on 10/8. She developed symptoms on 12/8 and was referred by her Personal Physician to the Public Health Clinics.
  2. The second person was referred to the Public Health Clinics due to symptoms.

  • 7 by a private initiative, of which 1 has a recent travel history
  1. The first person did it because of surgery in a private hospital.
  2. The second person took the test privately. He has no symptoms.
  3. The third person has no symptoms and did so because the employer asked her to.
  4. The fourth person has symptoms and took the test privately. He has a recent travel history in Rhodes on 11/8, and developed symptoms on 14/8.
  5. The 5th person is the football player in the team Olympus Xylophagus announced this morning by the COP and did the examination due to symptoms.
  6. The 6th person took the test privately due to symptoms.
  7. The 7th person had symptoms and took the test privately.

Based on the data so far, the total number of positive cases is 1,332.

In addition, three patients remain hospitalized at Famagusta General Hospital, one of whom is in the Increased Care Unit.
