Priority is security and protection of the citizen
As part of the actions of the Police to combat disturbance, delinquency, as well as the prevention
of road traffic collisions, checks were carried out on the evening of 31 May, 2020 and in the early
hours of yesterday 1 June, 2020, checks were carried out in the areas of Geroskipou and Chlorakas in
Paphos.
Various members of the Paphos OPE, the Special Motorcycle Squad (EOMO), the Immigration
and Immigration Service, as well as the MMUD participated in the campaign.
During the above period, 59 vehicles with 83 passengers were checked. Investigations were also
carried out on 27 vehicles and 39 persons. Of the above checks, 44 complaints of various traffic
offences emerged, while four vehicles were retained.
Coordinated and targeted police operations continue as part of efforts to prevent and combat all
forms of illegality, aiming to further consolidate the sense of security of citizens.
