in-cyprus 5 May 2020 -Josephine Koumettou
Collection of samples from employees in retail is in progress within the framework of the implementation of Phase One of Cyprus’ exit strategy, the Health Ministry’s spokeswoman Margarita Kyriacou told CNA, adding that sampling of workers at construction sites will begin tomorrow.
According to Kyriacou, the collection of 14,000 samples from retail employees started yesterday and is expected to be completed by May 25, adding that the programme concerns those who come in direct contact with the public like sales staff and cashiers and appointments are booked through a request submitted by the business by filling in the relevant form which is then sent to the lab of their choice.
As regards the sampling of 6,000 construction site workers, Kyriacou said that the sample collection for 3,000 of them will be conducted by mobile units at the sites, and the rest will be fulfilled by appointment at the labs as per the list below published by the Health Ministry.
