The Municipality of Paphos announced that Fellahou Street and the adjacent roads, as well as the newly reconstructed parking area with a total capacity of 170 spaces, will open and enter into operation on Wednesday 10 June, with the full completion of the restoration project of the area.
Until the start of the operation of the new parking spaces, the Municipality says, the public can use the area behind Agia Sophia mosque and the parking lot of the Ottoman Baths.
From next Monday 2 June, EAK will carry out work on the removal of the existing air network and connection of the existing underground network to the new underground network, as well as the installation of modern road lighting, followed by the necessary horizontal and vertical road marking, so that the project is fully integrated and given to traffic on the abovementioned date.
With the completion of the project, a total cost of 1.3 million euros, the degraded area for many decades acquires a new modern and functional aspect thus contributing substantially to the stimulation of commercial traffic in the traditional shopping center of Paphos.
As part of the project, the accumulated illegalities were also removed and the facades of old and abandoned buildings in the area were embellished.
