One more person with Coronavirus has died, an 85-year-old woman with serious underlying conditions who was being treated at the ICU of Limassol Hospital, but the final cause of death was Covid-19, the Health Ministry’s experts announced on Wednesday.
This raises the number of deaths to 24, 17 of whom had Covid-19 determined as the final cause of death; 11 men and 6 women with average age 71.4 years old.
Another two have tested positive to the virus from 1946 tests today, bringing the total cases to 905 (including 11 at the British Bases).
Commenting on today’s results, Dr Leontios Kostrikis said that the epidemiological data remain satisfactory as we enter the second half of the second week of relaxation of measures.
The results are:
- One through tracing of the contacts of positive cases (155 tests today)
- None from public hospital labs (334 tests today)
- One from private initiative (383 tests today)
- None from special health groups (62 tests today)
- None from tests to migrants (80 tests today)
- None from testing of workers in retail and construction sites (546 tests today)
- None from repatriations (265 tests today)
At 3 pm on Wednesday, there were five patients at Famagusta Hospital, all in good condition. Three were discharged.
There are three intubated patients in ICUs, all at Nicosia Hospital. Their condition is described as critical but stable.
In addition, there are four confirmed Covid-19 cases in hospital wards other than Famagusta Hospital.
