Emba’s Ayios Charalambos lyceum (upper secondary school) will remain closed today after a teacher tested positive for coronavirus. Meanwhile the school is being disinfected.
The positive case was one of two announced yesterday. The second was from a repatriation flight.
Antonis Nikiforou, president of the Emba school board, told CNA that he had been briefed by the school’s head that the teacher had tested positive as part of the 20,000 tests being carried out at schools among pupils, teachers and other staff.
The school is being disinfected and remains closed today, he said. Health officials are meanwhile tracing the contacts of the teacher so that they too can be tested.
