A total of 10,000 employees of businesses due to reopen under phase two of the lockdown exit strategy are to be tested for coronavirus as part of efforts to keep a close eye on the epidemiological situation.
Phase two is scheduled to start on May 21, assuming the situation permits. Experts have said they see no reason so far for a change of plans.

A similar scheme has been approved for schools, starting with final year pupils who were back in class on Monday, while another one is underway for the retail and construction sectors which went back to work on May 4.
They follows the suggestion of the team of scientific advisors on the coronavirus outbreak to monitor businesses that reopen.
According to an announcement issued on Thursday, cabinet had yesterday approved a proposal by the Health Minister for sample tests of employees at hairdressing salons, barbers and beauty parlours and catering establishments (the latter reopen but only outdoors).
Samples will begin on May 18 and end on June 5. A total of 7500 employees in catering and 2500 at hairdressing salons, barbers and beauty parlours will be tested.
More details will be announced by the Health Ministry.
