The Board of Directors of Electricity Authority Cyprus decided on Wednesday to extend the 10% reduction on electricity bills for two more months.
In an announcement, EAC said that the cut equals €20 million in value “given back to Cyprus’ society and economy.”
“In this unprecedented challenge for the country and our society and in view of the great collective effort to return to a new normal, EAC’s Board decided to extend the 10% reduction in the price of electricity for two more months,” the Authority said, adding that the decision has been forwarded to the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority for approval.
“The move takes place within EAC’s financial capabilities and always with the aim to support Cypriot citizens and businesses faced with the challenge of overcoming this crisis,” the announcement concluded.
The EAC first announced a 10% reduction in electricity prices on March 19.
