CYPRUS TEAM DEVELOPS PORTAL THAT TRACKS SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS

The Eratosthenes Centre of Excellence and Excelsior H2020 Teaming have launched a new platform WebGIS, that tracks the spread of coronavirus in the world.

The main objective of the ERATOSTHENES COVID-19 WebGIS Platform is to illustrate the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, disseminate useful statistical figures to the Governing Departments and Authorities and inform the public.
The WebGIS platform was developed by Dimitris Kakoullis and George Ioannou researchers of the Geoinformatics Cluster.

They worked under the supervision of Dr. Chris Danezis, Assistant Professor, Head of Geoinformatics of the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence (ECoE), Liaison Officer for the Governmental Departments, Organisations and Industry of the ‘EXCELSIOR’ H2020 Teaming Project and Head of the Geodesy Lab of the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics/Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the Cyprus University of Technology.
