Paphos hotels are offering free accommodation to health professionals from other towns.
Thanos Michaelides, who chairs the Paphos branch of the Cyprus Hoteliers Association told the Cyprus News Agency that in recognition of the work of health professionals, hoteliers were offering free accommodation to those sent from other hospitals to bolster Paphos Hospital.
Four hotels had responded to the government’s request for accommodation to quarantine those returning to Cyprus Αliathon, Droushia, King’s Hotel and Daphne Hotel Apartments, he added.
Hotels are closed under a decree until April 30. Michaelides said that they were monitoring the situation and developments in Cyprus’ two biggest markets, the UK and Russia.
There was a great deal of concern as to which hotels will be able to open in May and which will open gradually after that.
“Tourists will eventually come to Cyprus but this will be a very difficult year,” he said.
