The Road Transport Department announced on Thursday that as part of measures to contain the spread of Covid-19, it was extending the MOT certificates which expire on March 27, 2020 until March 31, 2020.
Efforts are underway to encourage people to stay at home in order to break the chain of transmission.
The department said the decision meant that the public need not circulate for this purpose.
