Another 21 people tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday in the Republic of Cyprus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 116, while one more tested positive in the Turkish-held north raising the total number of cases there to 40. The Republic of Cyprus also counts one death reported on Saturday.

Meanwhile, new measures have been taken at Nicosia and Larnaca hospitals (the latter being in near lockdown) after a nurse and a patient tested positive for Covid-19, and Paphos hospital said it would remain closed on Tuesday after a doctor, a nurse and a cleaner came out positive.
In the meantime private hospitals placed themselves in the services of the state to help combat the epidemic.
In the early hours of the morning, a very ill crew member aboard an Italian cruise ship was brought to shore for urgent medical treatment. The patient was taken to Limassol Hospital and the cruise ship continued on its way.
