Following from the decree announced by the Ministry of Health suspending among other operations at building sites in the private sector, the Ministry of Transport said on Thursday that in addition to construction projects in the health sector, exceptions will also be given for requests in relation to emergency projects for safety reasons.
The building sites that are obligated to suspend their operations under the new decree have until March 30 to take all actions necessary to ensure the sites are safe and fenced off.
It was clarified that transportation and loading/unloading of cargo containers is allowed as no restrictions were posed on these activities via the decree.
Exceptions will only be granted upon receiving a request in writing from the owner sent to the email minister@mcw.gov.cy and a subsequent approval by the Minister of Transport.
