EKO petrol stations are adopting new measures after the ministers of health, finance and labour have urged people to stay and work from home to protect themselves from coronavirus.
Antibacterial hand gel will be found near the pumps, at the cashier and in the toilets of the petrol station for customers and employees to use at will.
Employees will also be tasked with cleaning the facilities regularly throughout the day, including the gas pumps, the area through which most people might get in contact with each other.
Since they will handle banknotes, the staff will have to wear disposable gloves all the time and are advised to change them at regular intervals, while still using antibacterial gel. EKO has also announced there will be no car cleaning service for a week, from March 13 to March 20.
Moreover, staff at petrol stations have been instructed on how to act in case of an emergency.
Finally, the company has reminded that, through their mobile app, customers can refuel their cars by switching the pumps and paying for the service from their phones, therefore minimising the contact with others.
