11 flights are scheduled to depart on Saturday to Berlin, all London airports, Manchester and Birmingham, although the British government is likely to charter more flights to repatriate British visitors to Cyprus, according to CNA.
On Friday more than 715 foreign nationals were repatriated on five flights from Paphos airport; two flights to Manchester, one to Stansted, one to Gatwick and one to Birmingham.
All aircraft that arrived yesterday to repatriate foreign nationals were not carrying any passengers.
A two-week flight ban to international arrivals at Cyprus’ airports has been put in force at 3 am on Saturday morning.
Exceptions subject to special permission from the Minister of Transport apply to cargo flights, flights arriving without passengers for the sole purpose of repatriating foreign nationals, flights for humanitarian reasons and other flights pertaining to emergencies.
