GHS DOCTORS CAN CHARGE UP TO €25 FOR VISITS AFTER 8PM

in-cyprus 31 January 2020 -Edited by

General and specialist doctors members of the general health scheme (GHS) can charge beneficiaries up to €25  as an additional co-payment for visits between 8 pm and 7 am on week days, throughout the weekend and on official public holidays, the Health Insurance Organisation said on Friday.
Visits to doctors specialising in radiology, radio therapy, cytology and pathological anatomy are excluded from this arrangement.
For visits to doctors at any other time, no extra fee can be requested as additional co-payment on the grounds of the time of the visit.
In the event where the beneficiary is charged an additional co-payment of up to €25 because of the time of the visit to the doctor, then no additional fee can be charged.

Beneficiaries who find the above provision is not being adhered to are urged to inform the HIO through the GHS call centre on telephone 17000 (toll free) or by email to info@gesy.org.cy.
