SLIPPING BUILDING AT THE ENTRANCE TO KAMARES - update 4 December

Please note that work started on the site on Monday 2 December.

As previously advised, it is anticipated that the demolition and site clearance will take approximately one month.   There will then be supporting walls to be built and work done to reinforce the road.  This work is likely to take approximately another month.

The timescales presume that the weather holds and the contractor does not uncover any unforeseen problem on the site.  There will also be the Christmas/New Year holiday to take into account as this will delay work.

As mentioned before, once the site has been cleared, if it is feasible to open the road for one-way traffic, this will be done.

There is a rumour circulating that the road will not be open until the summer.   This is incorrect.  The road will be re-opened once it is safe to do so.
