Please be extra vigilant for any strange people or vehicles in your area. With the darker evenings, there have been reports of several break ins, or attempts, in the Tala area during the last week. If you have any doubts about a vehicle, please take a note of the vehicle details [make, model, colour and reg no] and time seen and ring the Police.
Evenings around 7.30pm seem to be a favourite time to strike.
Please ensure that all doors and windows are closed and securely fastened, and any alarms or other protective devices put in place whenever you leave the house. Please also ensure that you do not leave jewellery and/or large amounts of cash in your property.
The main points of access into a property tend to be unlocked or open doors and/or windows. And the main target of the thieves continues to be jewellery and cash.
