The cabinet on Wednesday approved an increase in judges at the administrative court from three to five, Justice Minister Giorgos Savvides said.
This means cases would be heard more quickly and help the court function more efficiently, he said.
The administrative court began operating last year. It is designed to relieve the supreme court’s caseload and handles appeals concerning government decisions, including asylum applications, public sector jobs and promotions and tax matters.
