SLIPPING BUILDING
The deadline imposed by the court on the developer to
demolish the structure by 31 July has passed. Paphos District
Office will now put the demolition work out to tender [as they are obliged to
do as they are a Government Department. Their hands were tied until the
court deadline passed.]. As we have the August holiday season upon
us, allowing for the papers to be issued, tenders to be returned and
evaluated, it will then depend on how quickly the contractor will be available
to carry out the work. The tender and evaluation process usually
takes around 2.5 months.
All being well, it is hoped that the demolition, site
clearance, necessary shoring up of the hillside and road, and road resurfacing
should be completed by the end of this year, before the winter rain, and the
District Office is doing all it can to move the project along as quickly as possible.
