Under the microscope and the European Border Guard Agency FRONTEX, the issue of immigration to Cyprus is
now being raised, with operational action being undertaken with the Cyprus Police. To this end, experts from the
Organization are in Cyprus to assist the efforts of the Police in examining migrants' travel documents, their identification
and registration.
The inaugural meeting for the joint venture between the Cyprus Police and FRONTEX took place on August 14 at
the offices of the Aliens and Migration Service. The purpose of the meeting was to inform and prepare the experts of
the European Agency.
It should be noted that for the same purpose, Europol has been in our country in recent months and has a number of
Europol experts.
