NEW YELLOW ALERT AS HEAT WAVE CONTINUES

The met office has issued a new extreme high temperature warning for Monday, the second in as many days, as Cyprus continues to sizzle at 40 C inland.
The new yellow alert is in force from 11 am to 5 pm.
In its weather forecast for Monday, the met off said seasonal low pressure is affecting the area.
Monday will be mainly fine with temperatures rising to 40 C inland, 32 C on the west coast, around 35 C on the remaining coasts and 30 C in the mountains.
Tonight will be mainly fine with the possibility of local low cloud and patchy fog at dawn.
Temperatures tonight will fall to 24 C inland and on the south and east coasts, around 22 C on the west and north coasts and 17 C in the mountains.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be mainly fine with temperatures remaining at the same levels, which are slightly above average for the time of year.
