X-RAY TECHNICIANS TO STAGE TWO-HOUR STRIKE ON FRIDAY 7/6

Cyprus Mail 6 June 2019 - article by Staff Reporter

Employees and technicians working in radiology units at state hospitals will be carrying out a two-hour strike on Friday, in protest at the government ignoring their demands.
Their work stoppages across state hospitals will take place from 10am to noon.
In a statement, the union representing the workers said all arrangements have been made in advance so as to inconvenience the public as little as possible.
A skeleton staff will be on duty at radiology units to deal with possible emergencies. In addition, patients who had been scheduled for CT scans have been notified so as to reschedule their appointments.
The workers claim the government has for a year been ignoring their demands for a revision of the waiting system.
“Unfortunately, the indifference of the government leaves us no choice,” the statement read.
