Now the threat of sustained rainfall has hopefully passed, the outside staff of the Council are starting the annual cleaning of Tala and the green areas. The work could not be started any earlier as rain encourages more growth, the growth is too wet to cut properly, and the work has to be repeated.
Please be patient - the cleaning takes time as the boys have an extensive area to cover. If your street has still not been cleaned by the end of June, please email me on toffee@cytanet.com.cy.
Re empty plots, owners have been asked to clean these before the end of this month.
Due to the volume of growth because of sustained rainfall, the risk of fires this summer is very high. Please be vigilant.
