The police, as part of its preventive policy, urges the public to take precautionary measures to guard
their property and advise citizens to take the following security measures:
More efficient housekeeping:
• When absent from home, do not leave any evidence to betray their absence.
• Care for the home to be well locked and to cooperate with people of their trust, for the
mutual supervision of their homes.
• Ensure that doors, windows and lights are secured.
• Do not leave the keys on the locks, not even on the inside of the door.
• Do not leave under any circumstances money, jewelery, important documents or other
valuables that are essentially the primary target of the perpetrators and, where possible, be kept
in a safe safe deposit box.
• If they have an alarm system and / or a closed circuit television, make sure they have them
turned on and that they have not suffered any damage.
• We also recall the risks posed by the publication of personal data on social networking
platforms. Suspensions that show signs of being absent from the house should be avoided, because
without the owners wanting, they aim at themselves and become targets of burglars.
Shop Owners:
• The cash registers of their stores are open and free of content.
• Do not leave large amounts of money in precarious places.
• Not to expose their property.
• Ensure, if possible, the installation of alarm systems.
• If there are alarm systems to check that these systems are modern, reliable and have not
suffered any damage.
• For electrical appliances, record the Serial numbers of the manufacturer.
Car theft and car theft:
The police highlight the multiple risks posed by the failure to take preventive measures for the
safe storage of motor vehicles. Therefore, citizens are required to take all necessary and reasonable
measures to ensure that their motor vehicles can not be used by unauthorized persons.
In particular, the public is called:
• Always lock the doors and fully raise the windows, even if the car is parked in front of its
home, in a safe place.
• Under no circumstances should the car be operated when the driver or other occupants are
not in the car.
• Never leave the keys in the starter or the door, even if it will be absent for a very short time.
• Always park your car in places where there is adequate road lighting. The dark or remote
spots make it easier to work on the surface.
• Where there is a garage to be used.
• Do not leave bags, briefcases, mobile phones, portable computers, or any other valuable
items visible on the car, even if it is locked. The mere fact that these are visible by the laborers
is an incentive to commit theft.
• If it is necessary to leave objects in the vehicle, place them in secure places or in the luggage
compartment.
• Put an alarm on his car.
In public places and lively shopping streets:
• Have their money and credit cards in the front pockets of their garments, and it is a good idea
not to have large sums of money with them, but absolutely necessary.
• Persons carrying bags, not putting all the money, credit cards, passports, etc. in them, while
the bag is preferable to be positioned in a manner that has continuous visual contact with it
(e.g., crosswise).
• In cases where shopping centers and shops visit special care when entering test rooms and
do not leave their personal belongings exposed.
• Be especially careful where overcrowding occurs, as well as in dark and distant spots.
