-Please remember it is recommended that you formalise your stay in Cyprus by applying for your MEU1 once you have been here for 90 days, or upgrade to your MEU3 if you have lived here for 5 years. There is currently around a 6 month waiting period for appointments at Immigration [and it could take quite a while for the documentation to be issued to you]. As a reminder, to make an appointment at Immigration you will need to take your passport[s] when making the appointment. You will be given a slip of paper stating your appointment date and the documentation required for that appointment. A photograph will be taken of you during your Immigration appointment.
- UK driving licences should be exchanged for Cypriot driving licences at the Department of Transport. Allegedly the Citizens Advice Centres can deal with this, but reports say that they are referring people to the Department of Transport [off the Mesoghi Road in Paphos]. You will need your driving licence, passport, yellow slip [MEU1 or MEU3] and also a utility bill [or bills] to cover the period since the yellow slip was issued to prove you are still here!! It is possible that requirements may differ when you actually get there.
-Renewal of Cypriot driving licences - these can be dealt with at the Citizens Advice Centres
- UK Passports - keep an eye on the expiry date - after Brexit it is likely that you will need 6 months left on your passport to travel
