Most consignments of animals and animal products from non-EU countries must come through a border inspection post (BIP).

You must:

tell the BIP about your consignment in advance - if you don’t you may be charged an additional fee or your checks could take longer
make sure the BIP you’re using is approved to check the animals or animal products in your shipment
