In view of the holiday season please be vigilant regarding any strange activity and be on the lookout for any strangers who may be walking around. If in doubt, please take a photo of anyone behaving suspiciously and a note of any registration number of strange vehicles. The Police would prefer to have a phone call so they can investigate strange vehicles/people on the spot and, if necessary, send a patrol vehicle to the area.
A reminder also not to leave any valuables or anything of value in sight in your vehicle and to lock your vehicle whenever it is left. A vehicle was broken into in Kato Paphos over the weekend, the window smashed and a wallet containing almost €800 stolen. There is also a story circulating that someone in Kamares had their jewellery stolen from an unlocked car outside their property.
Ensure your property is securely locked and any security protections set in force as you leave - even if you will only be away for a very short period of time. It is easy to forget and leave windows open or unlocked and these could be an invitation to an opportunist thief.
