The Cyprus Kidney Association ( ex pats) was set up
to replace the aged and 25 years old
technology dialysis machines at the General Hospital in Paphos, through
voluntary contributions. The machines are available to all nationalities.
The new generation dialysis machines offer a massive 30%
reduction in mortality rates and whilst Nicosia has the new machines, we do not
have them in Paphos.
Patients have to spend 5 hours, 3 times a week on these
machines, which save their lives and we believe that they deserve the best.
The Cyprus Kidney
Association( ex pats) has already donated 1 new dialysis machine this year at a
cost of Eu. 24,000, but there are 9 more to go.
It is anticipated that there will be a massive growth
requirement for more dialysis machines in the future in Cyprus and we are
asking for your help, please, to support this very good cause, which could
affect any of us at any time in the future.
One way in which you could help, which would cost you
nothing , would be to e-mail your Christmas greetings to distant friends this
year instead of sending them a Christmas card and tell them that you are
sending the money saved to the Cyprus Kidney Association( ex pats).
At about Eu 1 per card including postage, the
contribution you would be able to make would be quite substantial and it really
would be helping to save lives.
I can assure you that every cent we raise goes into
purchasing another new kidney dialysis machine.
Please, do something really great this Christmas and help
save a life with the money you are saving from unsent Christmas cards.
Please send or take in your donations to the Hellenic
