How expensive is ice cream in Cyprus and Protaras, compared to other countries and cities abroad?
The answer is given by the publication of a new study, which allowed to compile a ranking showing the average retail price for a scoop of ice cream in 20 of the most popular countries for holidays.
Specifically, Cyprus is the eighth cheapest country on the list, since the average price of a scoop of ice cream in our country costs €1.90, with the cost being the same in Protaras.
The average price of a scoop of ice cream, from lowest to highest:
- Turkey €0.47 – The cheapest is in the city of Alanya for €0.12.
- Albania €0.90 – Tirana, €0.90.
- Morocco €0.92. – 0,92 €.
- Bulgaria €0.96 – Varna, €0.91.
- Poland 1,00 € – Hel, 1,00€.
- Montenegro €1.20 – Ulcinj, €1.20.
- Croatia €1.73. Split, 1,50€.
- Cyprus 1,90 € – Protaras: 1,90 €.
- Germany €2.07 – Kulgsborn €1.90.
- Netherlands €2.15 – Sirmonikung €2.00
- Spain €2.16 – Formentera €0.90.

The study points out that the most expensive ice cream in all of Europe is located on a French beach.
Enjoying a scoop of ice cream off the coast of France can cost €3.30. In Toulon, travelers must pay at least €4.70 for a ball.
In Greece, Confidencial's research highlighted Rhodes as the cheapest destination regarding the price of ice cream.
