In order to extend the tourist season, the largest popular celebration in Cyprus, the Wine Festival is moved to the month of October where this year its 62 years of life will be celebrated.
And this year's Wine Festival promises its thousands of visitors, a series of renewed and rich events and a feast of flavours from Cypriot wines of our island, while it will be transferred again to the wine villages of the Limassol district, but also to districts of the city.
Speaking to "F", the mayor, Nikos Nikolaidis, said that the reason for the transfer of the Wine Festival to the first week of October is due to the support of the Municipality to the efforts of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism to extend the tourist season. The Limassol Municipality's goal is to surpass last year's visitor levels that reached 100,000, Nicolaides said.
This year, the Wine Festival will take place from 7 to 15 October 2023, while for another year the Municipality is preparing for an 8-day event, declaring itself ready to host and entertain tens of thousands of visitors.
For the organization of the Wine Festival, a large team of the Municipality has been working hard for months to create the best conditions and offer joy and fun to fellow citizens and visitors of its city. It is the largest institution of the city, which brings a significant turnover to those who own kiosks but also to the businessmen of the city.
