INFLATION AT 8.7% IN NOVEMBER

Inflation in November 2022 increased at a rate of 8.7%, the Statistical Office announced on Friday. The Consumer Price Index increased by 0,54 units and reached 114,55 units compared to 114,01 units in October 2022, recording a 0,47% increase.

The largest changes in economic categories compared to November 2021 were recorded in Electricity with a percentage of 32,3% and in Petroleum Products with a percentage of 16,3%. Compared to the previous month, the largest change occurred in Water, by 3.6%.

Compared to November 2021, the largest change was observed in the category Housing, Water, Electricity and LPG, which is increased by 17,3%, in the category Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, with an increase of 15,5%, and in the category Transport with 10,7%.

Compared to October 2022, the largest change was recorded in the Clothing and Footwear category, which increased by 1,38%.

The largest impact on the change in the CPI of November 2022 compared to November 2021 was had by the categories Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, with an impact of 2,97 units, Housing, Water, Electricity and LPG with 2,36 units and Transport, with 1,76 units.

Food and non-alcoholic beverages, with 0.19 points, Transport with 0.16 points and Clothing and Footwear with 0.11 points, had the largest positive impact on the change in CPI compared to the previous month.

The largest impact on the change in the CPI of November 2022 compared to the index of November 2021 was had by Petroleum Products, with an impact of 1,58 and Electricity, with 1,40.

Finally, Petroleum Products, with 0,23 points, had the largest positive impact on the change in the CPI of November 2022 compared to the corresponding index of the previous month.

For the period January-November 2022, the CPI recorded an increase of 8,4% compared to the same period last year. The largest changes occurred in the categories Housing, Water, Electricity and LPG, which increased by 21.4% and in Transport, with an increase of 16.9%.
