Five coronavirus deaths were announced by the Ministry of Health, of which two in the last week. According to the announcement in the week of December 2 - 8, 3.854 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in Cyprus, with the positivity rate amounting to 5.47%.
5 deaths announced
They concern:
- Man, aged 94, who passed away on 04/10/2021
- Woman, aged 75, who passed away on 07/10/2021
- Man, aged 64, who passed away on 19/10/2021
- Man, aged 92, who passed away on 30/11/2022
- Man, aged 93, who passed away on 07/12/2022
- Total number of deaths with COVID-19 as the ultimate cause: 1,242.
- 94 COVID-19 patients are being treated in shsypy hospitals
- 11 in serious condition (ICU: 0 off ventilator/3 intubated, MAF: 8)
Diagnostic tests:
- A total of 70,518 diagnostic tests were performed
- 3,854 new cases were detected (total cases 622,102).
- Positivity rate in all tests 5.47%
Total number of molecular tests (PCR):
- 1,907 molecular tests were performed
- There were 190 positive cases
- Positivity rate 9.96%
Total number of rapid antigen tests:
- 68,611 rapid antigen tests were performed
- There were 3,664 positive cases
- Positivity rate 5.34%
Private initiative:
- 1,492 molecular tests were performed, 117 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.84%)
- 45,172 rapid antigen tests were performed, 3,406 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.54%)
Through the programs of the Ministry of Health, 23,439 rapid antigen tests were performed. 258 positive cases were identified.
- Sampling points: 14,844 rapid tests identified 172 positive cases (positivity rate 1.16%)
Education
- Primary Education: 127 rapid antigen tests, 3 positive cases identified (positivity rate 2.36%)
- Secondary Education: 638 rapid tests identified 4 positive cases (positivity rate 0.63%)
Other
- Nursing homes: 5,304 rapid antigen tests were performed, 76 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 1.43%)
- Closed facilities: 2,526 rapid antigen tests were performed, 3 new cases were identified (positivity rate 0.12%).
