3,157 NEW CASES, THREE DEATHS - Friday 25 March

The Ministry of Health announces that today, March 25, 2022:

  • 3 deaths reported
  • They concern:
  • Man, aged 69, who died on March 25, 2022
  • Man, aged 76, who died on March 25, 2022
  • Man, aged 80, who died on March 25, 2022

Total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19: 925.

  • 151 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in the hospitals of the CySEC
  • 20 in serious condition (ICU: 0 out of snorkel/6 intubated, PPE: 14)
  • Percentage of hospitalized patients without a history of vaccination: 52.32%
  • 19 patients who have ceased to be infectious continue to be hospitalized intubated due to COVID in an Intensive Care Unit.

Diagnostic tests:

  • A total of 45,788 diagnostic tests were performed
  • 3,329 new cases were identified (total cases 400,534).
  • Positivity rate in total exams 7.27%

Total number of molecular tests (PCR):

  • 2,749 molecular tests were performed
  • There were 172 positive cases
  • Positivity rate 6.26%

Total number of rapid antigen tests (Rapid Test):

  • 43,039 rapid antigen tests were performed
  • 3,157 positive cases occurred
  • Positivity rate 7.34%

 Tracking:

  • 1,013 rapid antigen tests were performed and 142 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 14.02%)

Private initiative:

  • 881 molecular tests were performed, 138 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 15.66%)
  • 19,838 rapid antigen tests were performed, 1,461 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 7.36%)

Through the programmes of the Ministry of Health, 23,201 rapid antigen tests were carried out. 1,696 positive cases were identified.

  • Sampling points: 21,239 rapid detection tests identified 1,523 positive cases (positivity rate 7.17%)

Education

  • Test-to-Stay: 54 rapid antigen tests were performed and positive cases were identified (positivity rate 3.7%)
  • Special Schools: 33 rapid antigen tests were performed and no positive cases were identified (positivity rate 0%)

Other

  • Nursing homes: 604 rapid antigen tests were performed, 29 positive cases were identified (positivity rate 4.8%)
  • Closed structures: 258 rapid antigen tests were performed and no new cases were identified (positivity rate 0%).
