In a heatwave and tomorrow Cyprus with the Meteorological Service issuing a new yellow warning for extremely high temperatures.
The warning, which will take effect tomorrow at 1 o'clock and will last until 5 p.m. on the same day, says the maximum temperature will rise to around 40 degrees in the interior and around 32 degrees in the higher mountains.

In the afternoon, the weather will be mostly clear but in the mountains and locally in the interior there will be temporarily increased cloudiness. Winds will blow southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and transient to windward to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little turbulent.
Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear but locally sparse fog or fog and low clouds are expected to form. Winds will initially blow southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort to soon become northwest to northeast and on the north coast southeast, weak, 2 to 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm until a little turbulent. The temperature will drop to around 22 degrees in the interior, around 23 degrees in the east, west and north coasts, around 21 degrees on the south coast and around 19 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow, after the dissolution of the local low cloud or even sparse fog, the weather will be mostly clear. However, at noon and in the afternoon, increased cloudiness that will be observed, in the mountains and in the interior, is not excluded to give isolated rain, in the mountains. Winds will blow in the morning mainly southeast to southwest and locally to northwest, weak, 3 Beaufort to become from noon onwards southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and transient to windward moderate, 4 Beaufort. The sea will gradually become a little turbulent. The temperature will rise to around 39 degrees in the interior, around 34 degrees in the south, east and north coasts, around 32 degrees on the west coast and around 30 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the weather will be mostly clear but in the midday and afternoon hours there will be temporarily increased cloudiness in the mountains. During the early morning hours, it is possible that locally, mainly on the coast, there is sparse fog and low clouds.
The temperature is not expected to change significantly until Saturday and will remain slightly above the average climatic values.
