Two tonnes of citrus fruits were transported last week by Famagusta-based transport company Adaport from the port of the occupied city to Russia and, according to Kipris, it is the first time it has been exported directly from the occupied area to Russia.
According to the GM, Kipris writes that the citrus fruits were exported with 80 containers of refrigerators and a second shipment to Russia is expected to be shipped next week.
The Detay newspaper noted that it had attempted to export directly twice in the past but had not been possible due to a lack of technical infrastructure.
The report states that due to the pandemic there are various problems due to the inability of Turkish trucks (carrying exported products) to go to the occupied territories, which has affected exports. However, this time Adaport transported the products using ice containers and a ship that had 1000 generators for 100 freezer containers.
